The challenge was to modernize a heavily used fitness center by improving functionality, upgrading aging cardio equipment, and maintaining the clearances needed for a safe and comfortable user experience.Discovery
Through our consultation and site evaluation, we identified several priorities- Modernize an aging fitness center
- Upgrade cardio equipment to withstand heavy usage and last longer than past purchases
- Improve traffic flow and user circulation
- Maximize functionality within the existing footprint

DESIGN
Health Club Grade cardio equipment by Star Trac complimented by the innovative and space saving design of the Batca Axis line.
FLOW
Two distinct training zones leverage the room’s central doorway, creating a natural path of movement and clean sight lines.
FUNCTIONALITY
Dedicated strength and cardio zones frame a central flex space, strategically designed to maintain required safety clearances while accommodating aerobics and heavy bag training.
The Solution
Our design transforms the space into a high-performance fitness environment by seamlessly blending premium equipment with an intentional, fluid layout:
• Natural traffic flow when entering the room
• Cardio Zone featuring Star Trac 8 Series Treadmills, 8 Series Elliptical, and Virtual Bike.
• Strength Zone featuring the Batca Fitness Axis Modular system with smith machine, functional trainer, storage for kettlebells and medicine balls, heavy bag, 5-50 dumbbell set and two adjustable benches.
• Flex space that allows for proper safety clearances for treadmills and can be utilized for the heavy bag and other floor exercises.
